Disc Golf Course - Muskegon River Bluffs
The City of Newaygo and Newaygo County Parks Dept have been collaborating to design a disc golf course called Muskegon River Bluffs (MRB). It will span Henning and Shaw parks. It is expected that construction will begin Spring 2021 and take approximately 18 months to complete. The course is designed to accommodate both amateurs and professionals. It will be a great amenity for the Newaygo Community and also serve as another tourist draw to the area.
Funds are still needed to cover the cost of construction. If you have questions or would like to donate please contact Newaygo City Hall at office@newaygocity.org or 231-652-1657 ext 211.
A link to a map of the proposed course is found below.

Marshall Memorial Park
The Marshall Memorial Park was established in the beginning of 2004 by the Newaygo City Council to remember Trooper Kevin M. Marshall of the Michigan State Police-Newaygo Post, who was killed in the Line of Duty while serving the citizens of Newaygo. Trooper Kevin Marshall, along with all fallen officers, is honored every Friday before Memorial Day with a candle light vigil held in the Marshall Memorial Park.
This park is located on State Road (M-37), downtown Newaygo. When entering the park you are welcomed with beautiful gardens full of wild flowers, along with a memorial statue, honoring Trooper Kevin Marshall.
The park is then extended back into the woods with a trail along Brooks Creek to a pavilion furnished with picnic tables for use by the public. There is also a look-out deck on Brooks Creek, giving you access to the beautiful scenery and colors of fall.
The City of Newaygo has also extending the trail farther along the creek edge, ending it at Clay Street. This trail will is a natural walking trail through the woods for anyone who enjoys a casual relaxing walk through the trees with stairs leading up to other streets in residential neighborhoods.
Brooks Park
Brooks Park is located behind City Hall and is open to the public year round. There is playground equipment for a fun filled afternoon, picnic tables for a relaxing lunch, and a stage/band shell for local performances.
